A Dream End to the Season
This season has been a rollercoaster ride for us. Kicking off with a pretty serious crash that really put us on the back foot the entire season. We've overcome some pretty incredible challenges this year and the reward we worked towards was traveling 10,000kms across the country to race a dream race track for me, Weathertech Raceway (Laguna Seca). We've done this trip three times before, but never to this iconic race track and it's been six years since our last trip in 2018 so lots of new experiences this time around.

Battling Through The Season!

Leaving Mid-Ohio we had gotten a handle on the car for the first time this season. We left that event more confident with the setup and handling of the car then previously and we had a much shorter list of things to tackle which was a great feeling! We did decide we wanted to put a fresh engine in the car as a precautionary measure. This engine had the accident on it and though everything seemed fine, we didn't want to have a catastrophic failure at our next event at Road America. This track is notorious for being hard on the cars and seeing 165+mph multiple times on track meant we wanted to be safer rather then sorry.

Leaving our event at Carolina Motorsports Park, we had a very broken car and we knew we had a lot of work to do to get ready for the MidWest Festival. The team got to work immediately identifying what we had broken, what we needed to order and what our plan of attack was going to be. The list was long and there were many ideas we threw around but Eric and Gregg picked the plan they thought would be best and got to work.

2024 Season Kick Off - GridLife Carolina Motorsports Park
The 2024 season has officially kicked off, and it was shaping up to be an amazing start to the season until it wasn't. We kicked things off this year, with another trip to Carolina Motorsports Park. We had so much fun at this event last year, the track suited the car very well and we managed to break a record last year that had stood for quite some time. This event kicked off pretty well for us, we showed up with a completely new aero package for the season, along with our new sequential transmission and softer suspension.

It's back!
Back in 2006 we originally designed our K-Series Water Plate Kit that ran D/B Series alternator. We have revisited the project to breathe some new life into it. We constantly strive to improve and bring the very best to our customers and racers. The original design is still for sale today and that will not change. However, we have brought some nice new options with the ability to run a k-series alternator. The V2 kit can be installed on your original K-Tuned Water Plate *EXCLUDING* some original designs for those who want to upgrade to a k-series alternator. 

For several years now racers have used electric water pumps to reduce the power robbing effects of parasitic drag from their engines. The reason is pretty simple, by reducing the number of accessories the crank needs to turn there can be some noticeable and impressive gains. The K-Tuned Water Pump Block Off Plate system was designed to setup a K-series engine to use an electric water pump cooling system. It replaces all of the bulky and heavy OEM accessories with a simple lightweight aluminum plate. The original alt bracket setup was designed to hold the older and lighter B or D series alternator and works well. The only difference is a little extra work for installation, so we decided to design a compatible alternator bracket setup that works with the original oem K-Series alternator. 

This updated kit features a fully adjustable tensioner with an integrated pulley that mounts cleanly on the left side of our original Water Plate. The lower alt bracket then easily bolts up to existing holes on most K20 and K24A engine blocks. The result is a setup that is much simpler to install, with no additional parts or wiring needed. With the new version of this kit, We have upgraded our mounting hardware to include a larger ARP  upper alternator mounting bolt, as well as 2 sets of larger bolts depending on which style K series alternator you have, for the lower mounting bracket. There are 2 mounting positions available to allow proper fitment with most stock crank pulleys. For the alternator, we made a lightweight CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum alternator pulley to replace the heavy oem unit. We have also included a custom length 7-rib belt, that fits with most oem crank pulleys and all hardware for installation. As a final bonus, check out our custom billet water pump bracket, it has been designed to hold our K-Tuned electric water pump right beside the plate setup. Just like the other brackets, this bolts up perfectly to existing holes on most K20 and K24A engine blocks. We can now confidently say that the K-Tuned Water Plate Kit is more complete than ever.

Starting the 2023 Season
The 2023 season has officially kicked off, and so far it's been one of the best starts we've had to racing in a long time. We kicked things off this year, with an unplanned event at Carolina Motorsports Park. We decided to add this event to our calendar so we could shake the car down ahead of our race at Watkins Glen International. We wanted to make sure everything was sorted, before attacking such a historic race track and the car and team did not disappoint! To say the event was a success is an understatement as we managed to break the long standing Unlimited FWD record set by Chris Rado with our TrackMod car running a 1.35.6. This was definitely unexpected given that we were just going to shake the car down, and I still can't believe that we managed to break such a fast record from a car that was on full race slicks.

New Dip Stick. We've made a few changes to the design including all new injection molded indicator. This will make it easy to read oil level. We've also designed it with pre set grooves and o-rings to easily set your Max and Min levels (Original version required you to scribe the indicator). We've changed the o-ring on the top to better fit most valve covers as most have corrosion and coating on the valve cover. We still have the small hole used on boosted setups that will allow you to run a spring to keep your dip stick from popping out (this is very rare and only normally seen in hurt motors or extremely high hp setups like a SFWD car) MSRP $84.99. To just order the wire it's available for $29.99 if you wanted to upgrade your old dip stick .

We have seen a lot of discussion recently regarding doors flying off at WCF this past weekend. We have also seen that our quick release door hinges have come up in the conversation a few times. We want to make it very clear that there are many cars running our door hinges on race days without any problems including SpeedFactory Tuning & Fabrication 200+MPH Outlaw Civic. It is very important to note that the car doors must be adjusted and fitted perfectly and tight in the door frame of the chassis. Failure to do so could leave gaps where air can start to pull the door away from the frame. Proper fitment is even more crucial because lexan windows and window latches (to hold in the top of the door) are not allowed in many classes.
